Hi, I'm Dylan Thompson. I am 16 years old. I have always loved sports. Growing up I dreamed of trying lots of sports. I was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when I was 5 years old. My parents couldn't figure out why I kept falling down and complained that my legs cramped and my hips hurt. I couldn't play sports because I was always getting tired. After blood tests and a biopsy it was confirmed I had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I stopped walking when I was in 5th grade. My muscles are rapidly deteriorating. I cannot lift my arms above my shoulders anymore. I hope there will be a cure for Duchenne soon. I don't want to be stuck in a wheelchair.
